Dramatherapy

Dramatherapy draws its methods from theatre, arts, storytelling, puppetry, body work and ritual. Working often from an indirect approach and client centred the client and therapist work together to explore material the client brings to the sessions or material/issues that may arise from creative exploration of the methods. Dramatherapy can help reflect on past issues, present concerns and future hopes.

As a therapist Nichi has worked in a variety of settings and with a wide range of clients and groups. Qualifying in 1998 and registered with the British Association of Dramatherapists and with the Health Professions Council, Nichi has worked in education, for the voluntary sector, a secure unit, for arts projects, theatres and in private practice.

Nichi has been able to draw from her drama background and freelance arts work in her role as a Dramatherapist to work with eating disorders, self harming, Asperger's and with survivors. She has run training courses and workshops and has a particular interest in encouraging creativity in adults and young people. She has experience of directing, devising, puppetry, mask making and developing drama/ theatre with adults and young people.
